PRESS STATEMENT

STATEMENT BY MEMBERS OF THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE OF THE
PEOPLE’S PROGRESSIVE PARTY
We have noted that Mr. Moses Nagamootoo and Mr. Khemraj Ramjattan have issued public statements claiming that President Bharrat Jagdeo had accused Ramjattan at a meeting of the Central Committee of the Party on January 31st, 2004 of “carrying” information concerning our discussions at the Central Committee meeting to the United States Embassy. These claims are false and malicious.
We, the undersigned members present at that Central Committee meeting at Freedom House, categorically state that neither President Jagdeo nor any other member accused Khemraj Ramjattan of giving information to any foreign embassy or mission
We fully concur with the
statement of the General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP)
Mr. Donald Ramotar emphatically denying that any such accusation was made.

Those members (except Moses Nagamootoo and Khemraj Ramjattan) of the Central Committee who were present and who have not signed below are unavailable to sign but have concurred with the contents of this statement.
