The PPP Central Committee meeting

The PPP Central Committee met on February 16 th, 2008.

The meeting decided that the 29 th Congress of the Party would be held on August 2-3, 2008. The Central Committee also ratified the composition of the Congress Committee which is being chaired by Cde Clement Rohee.

This Congress will receive the report of the Party’s Central Committee on it’s performance since it was elected at the 28 th Congress in 2005.

The report is expected to analyse the socio-economic and political situation in Guyana. It will thoroughly examine the International environment under which we are operating as well.

The Congress would also elect a new Central Committee to take the Party through the next three years.

All Party bodies have started preparations for this most important event.
